Dream: Sorting the details
Sep. 2nd, 2006 10:30 pmDream: Sorting the details
I dreamt of sitting at the old house with my now-deceased grandmother, waiting for someone to arrive to make the final arrangements--specifically, to make the funeral arrangements and to take the house from us.
Short, simple and hurtful, isn't it?
Notes and explanatory details
#1. The person coming to take everything away is, in waking life, my employer's district manager. His appearance on our doorstep inspires dread and panic. He is Uber-Authority.
#2. The better part of the dream was simply the two of us sitting quietly, resigned, waiting for this arbitrary arbiter to arrive and finish things off, for authority to come and put a fork in the mess and declare it done. This suggests to me that I'm done with something and am just waiting for the official word of its overness.
#3. Though the dream superficially concerns itself with the house, that situation is well and truly over. The presence of the district manager suggests, however, that this might be work-related instead, and in that area I could definitely afford to have someone come in and tie up some loose ends.
#4. I am severely in need of some down time.
