Dream interpretation
Most of the dream was black, as if I was listening to a show with my eyes closed.

In the dream, two women discussed a dream one of them had. Marie was worried that her dream was strange, but Judy (who was not Judy at first but was played by the same actress, and became Judy by the end) went through the dream, picking bits of it apart, and told Marie that really it was just about the love she had for her family.

Marie was happy, and Judy got into her car. There may or may not be a visual here; I have a gnattering that there's a visual of Judy sitting behind the wheel, but my brain could just be filling in that detail after the fact because I knew she was in the car even if the screen was black. Marie's son Robert and the grandkids come over, and something he says causes Judy to stop and look up, and realize that her interpretation was way off.

I am in a bed suddenly, in a loft with massive windows looking out over the city skyline. Two narrow strips of fabric hang from the ceiling and I'm trying to find an artistic way to hang them without getting close to the candles or tchotchkes in the windowskill. In the background as I work, I hear--but don't see--"Everybody Loves Raymond," and if you've seen the show, then you know who Marie and Judy and Robert are...

And then my alarm went off.

Notes and explanations
#1. This dream occurred between 7:41am and 8:57am. I awoke from a very uncomfortable but now-forgotten dream, used the bathroom, and realized it was way too early for me to be awake with my new schedule, so I went back to bed. Last night was bad for sleep but very active in terms of dreams; I woke up numerous times throughout the night with dreams lingering by the fingernails, but this is the only one I really remember, and it was fading fast before I wrote it out.
#2. No TV was on in the room or within sound-range of the room while I slept, though this is not the first time I've dreamt of Everybody Loves Raymond. Not sure why, as I'm not a huge fan of the show. I thought I'd written previous dreams out, but I can't find them now...
#3. Judy might have been interpretting the dream for Robert rather than Marie. I'm fuzzy on the details here, because now that I'm awake, my brain wants to think back to actual episodes rather than the dream itself. I don't remember the dream she was interpretting, though it had something to do with inappropriate affection between mother and son, and the punchline was her in the car realizing that it was not nearly as complicated as she'd made it.
#4. Missing senses! Occasionally I have a dream in which one sense is noticeably missing. Usually that sense is sound, though occasionally I'll dream without visuals or scent; usually that dream is like a senseless little 8mm movie of everyday life, like a girl turning her bike around while we talk; and usually I see that 8mm movie in real life sometime in the near future. This dream doesn't fit the mold, in that the missing sense is in a part of the dream that is essentially a TV show, and the part of the dream that might have something to do with any precognitive bits--rearranging the bed--is intact in its senses and makes 'just a dream' sense because I was discussing bedding last night. Still, it's worth noting, in case I ever find myself not-really-listening to ELR in a loft while I rearranging bedding.
