Dream stub: sick rabbit
Aug. 18th, 2007 01:00 pmI know I was dreaming when the alarm went off. I got up, hit snooze, and laid back down into the dream in progress, but the interruption caused a tangent in the dream, and I had to stop dreaming to take care of my rabbit Darwin. He and his cage was covered in mess; I wasn't sure if it was diarrhea or vomit, but he was very ill. I opened the cage, lifted him out--
The alarm went off. I got up, very agitated, hit snooze, and flopped back into the bed, eager to get back to Darwin and get him taken care of.
Darwin had ducked under the shelf, his favorite hiding place, in the meantime, so I knelt down, concerned about how to get him out without scaring him further. Rabbits are delicate, and he was sick already. Fortunately he came straight to me, and even allowed me to pick him up with no protest. I turned to take him into the bathroom to clean him up--
The alarm went off. Dammit!
Got out of bed. Went into kitchen to get coffee. Went into living room to retrieve rabbit. Realized rabbit was still in cage, was not covered in mess, and was not, in fact, sick. Well, that was good, at least.
I think losing two hamsters recently and preparing myself for the loss of a third has taken its toll on me. It doesn't help that I woke up sick myself...
