It's déjà vu all over again.
Last night I dreamt of the volcano scene from the "Return of the King" film, the last of the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. In the scene, Frodo is supposed to throw the One Ring into the volcano in which it was created, destroying it once and for all, but he can't do it; in the end, he wrestles Gollum for the ring, but Gollum wins and falls to his death shortly after.
However, my dream was of the volcano scene done as part of the "Star Wars" films, so there were high tech backdrops, lots of shiny distracting things, gothy wear for the hobbit, and lightsabers, of course.
Except it was "Star Wars" as done by Ridley Scott in his "Alien"/"Blade Runner" days, so all of the high techness was dark and gritty and dystopian.
I blame the PR push for "Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith," myself.
