Dream stub: dead friends and missing endings

I dreamt that my best friend Afi died, though I'm not sure about the circumstances of her death. The dream itself dealt mainly with the aftermath of her death, and was full of moments that were reminders of her absence.

The moment that stands out best: I was thinking about a series of books that she had written, a sort of Every Dead Thing meets Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events meets Griffine and Sabine, and wondered what would come next and if I should perhaps re-read the earlier books. Then I had the jolting thought that I'd never find out how the series was supposed to end...

And I dreamt my father died just shortly before. Strange. Time to plug up all those nervousity leaks before I infect friends.

'course, I'd add that's what you get from naming a hamster memorial sanctuary after a hamster who's not quite dead yet. :)

I've been in a grand funk all over the place, and I think this is just part of it. This morning's dream had me trying to save the famous painter van Eyck, or maybe some artifact he was carrying, as the Nazis caught onto my presence and carried out the destruction of a university and surrounding town to stop me. On the other hand, I was able to hide using small children who could, by way of ritual, become doors and windows.

That was an odd one.

I will now scribble down this dream, in an attempt to utilize it later for my own nefarious purposes!

Was something like, "And who will be the way for the spirits to pass over?" And one of the children, all smiles and eagerness, would run to the wall, extend their hands, and say, "I will be the way for the spirits to pass over."

No, wait, that's "Song of the Stars." But it was something like that.

I don't recall specifics of series. I think it was Michael Connolly's Charlie Parker series meets A Series of Unfortunate Events flavored heavily with Griffin & Sabine.
